PRINCE DIPONEGORO STORY

Hope you like it!

Once upon a time, on November  11th 1785 a baby boy was born named Raden Mas Ontowiryo or as we know him Prince Diponegoro. Prince Diponegoro was the oldest son of the 3rd Sultan Hamengku Buwono who was the king of Mataram Kingdom and R. A. Mangkarawati as a mistress. Mistress is a wife but not a queen.
One day, the 3rd Sultan Hamengku Buwono asked Prince Diponegoro to be the next king of Mataram Kingdom.
“Oh son, I want to say something serious to you. Son, I would like you to be the next king of this kingdom.” Said the king.
“I’m sorry father I can’t.” Answered Prince Diponegoro.
“Why? You are my oldest son, and I believe you can handle this country. I see your good ability to be leader.”
“I’m sorry father, I don’t mean to refuse your belief to me. But, I have some reasons. The one of it, is although I’m the oldest son, I wasn’t born from the queen. So, I dont want people in this Kingdom to hate eachother because of me, Father.  Even i’m not the king, I will accompany Raden Mas Jarot to be the next king.”
Raden Mas Jarot was also the son of the 3rd Sultan Hamengku Buwono who was the descendant of the queen.
“Oh, ok. I will support what you want.” Said the 3rd Sultan Hamengku Buwono.
Well guys, Prince Diponegoro refused it.
Day by day passed, the 3rd Sultan Hamengku Buwono died. So, the next king was Raden Mas Jarot. At that time, Raden mas Jarot was 13 y.o.
Can you imagine what would happen? Yes, it made dutch colonial stronger than before.
Guys, Raden mas Jarot or the 4thSultan Hamengku Buwono also died. Yes, he died at his young age. This condition can be used by the Dutch Colonial and Patih Danurejo to make the people around Prince Diponegoro hate him. Who is Patih Danurejo? Patih Danurejo was the part Mataram Kingdom but support Dutch Colonial.
You know what I mean, right?
Rumor spread over. Rumor has it, that the 4th Sultan Hamengku Buwono was murdered by Prince Diponegoro. But actually, it wasn’t right at all.
Other than this problem, Patih Danurejo made a plan so that the next rule of Mataram kingdom was Prince Menol. Yes, what Patih Danurejo wanted become true.
Don't you know guys? Prince Menol was 3 y.o. when he lead this kingdom. Hff... I’m sure you can imagine this condition, of course.
One day, Dutch Colonial came and implanted sticks at Prince Diponegoro’s land perimeter. Yes, the Dutch Colonial had a plan to build road over there.
“Hi you! Don’t slack off! Get back to Work! Or you’ll receive punishment.” Said the one of the Dutch Colonial who was managing the project to the servent
They didn’t even try to notice Prince Diponegoro, first.
Obviously, Prince Diponegoro’s anger went out of control.
Because of this incident and other, DIPONEGORO WAR BEGAN.
Prince Diponegoro started to manage the strategy of the war.  At first, certainly ha asked the people of the Mataram Kingdom to join the war. “Thank you for attending this meeting. Here I want to say, we are the owner of this land. So, never let other people rule us. Dutch has colonialized us. We will not tolerate this anymore. We must stand together strong and take action to fight them, then the day will come. We will take back our freedom. We must not stay put! We are up against the people who have always take our sovereignity. We must prevail! I believe we will become victorious. Allahuakbar!”
Diponegoro war had the biggest casualities along this Indonesia history.
Guys, the bad news came.
Dutch colonial received assistances from two kingdoms. Certainly, it made Prince Diponegoro worried to join the war.  How can? Just watch it!
“Oh kyai, we got bad news that Pakubuwono and Mangkunegoro joined van Der Capellen. It’s so hard to fight our own brethren family.” Said Prince Diponegoro.
“You’re so wise. Remember we fight isn’t about who but we fight about the attitude. It isn’t problem if they are our family or not.” Answered Kyai.
“ Thank you kyai for the advice.”
Diponegoro war was so hard for Dutch Colonial. It was amazing. Yes it made general De Cock joined to handle it. They had a strategy to build fortrasses in a circle form to make the battlefield smaller. It is problem for Prince Diponegoro and the troops, positively. But, don’t worry. Prince Diponegoro with the troops can handle it all.
One day, dutch colonial didn’t want to continue this war anymore. Then, they called Prince Diponegoro to have a meeting.
“Prince Diponegoro, a lot of our troops have died here. Just stop this war.” Said the one of the Dutches.
“Beg your pardon? Do you want us to give up to you? Never!” Said Prince Diponegoro
“So, does it mean the war won’t end? “
“There is one way to stop this war, Sir. Let me build an Islam Kingdom that is free from Dutch Colonial.”
Was was was was, all the duthces whispered.
Suddenly,
“Just give up in front of us, Diponegoro!” (Act like one of the Dutches pointed the gun to Prince Diponegoro)
“Astagfirullah, it wasn’t fair. You fool me!”
“Shut up Diponegoro!”
Yes Prince Diponegoro was isolated by the Dutch Colonial for many times. At the end, Prince Diponegoro died at Makassar, South Sulawesi on January 8th 1855.

Well guys, Diponegoro war happened only for 5 years, but the impact for Dutches was so big. That one of the reason why VOC bankrupt was this war. What an incredible hero Prince Diponegoro is. He did the best, he made a smart strategy and... Yes! We should proud and follow his personality by being discipline, study hard, never give up of anything. Love your nation, and participate of any good things for better Indonesia. I LOVE INDONESIA AND I PROUD BEING INDONESIAN YOUNGSTER.
